Joren Six is a post doctoral researcher specialized in music technology at Ghent University.
In 2018 he graduated on a dissertation titled "Engineering systematic musicology". His research is published in international journals on topics such as computational ethnomusicology, music information retrieval and sonification in sports science. His findings are regularly presented at international peer reviewed conferences (ISMIR, AES conferences). Insights in music and engineering are the binding factor in his interdisciplinary work.
Before his PhD at University Ghent (2014 - 2018) he was employed as a researcher at the Royal Conservatory (Ghent), Cultuurnet Flanders (Brussels) and Vooruit Arts Center (Ghent) working on various projects combining engineering and culture.
