Abstract

The research aims at developing a time-efficient and cost-effective methodology for the 3D documentation of an archaeological excavation (and the archaeological heritage in general). To achieve this, the project investigates the application of image-based 3D reconstruction methods, and the feasability of handheld and UAV-based data acquisition, in an archaeological framework.

In collaboration with GATE bvba, the methodology is valorised in the private archaeological sector in Belgium.
