Since December 2016 I am Assistant Professor ("Docent") at the Department of Linguistics (Dutch Linguistics) at Ghent University. My current research interest is related to changes in the role of standard languages in Europe, commonly referred to as destandardization. More specifically, I am interested in how changes to standard language ideology manifest themselves in the beliefs about language and multilingualism of university students.
