Mieke VANDENBROUCKE is currently a tenure track research professor at the University of Antwerp. She was a Fulbright scholar at UC Berkeley in 2016-2017, after which she joined Ghent University as a postdoctoral scholar for two years. Her research interests lie at the intersection of sociolinguistics, pragmatics and urban studies, with a particular interest in the impact of globalisation and migration on multilingual urban settings in Europe, institutional discourse and language policy. She has conducted fieldwork in Belgium, The Netherlands and Kosovo and is currently developing an interest in scientometrics in linguistics.
