Lieve Van Hoof is a Research Professor (BOF-ZAP) within the History Department, also associated with the Department of Literary Studies. Trained as a classicist, historian, and political scientist, she studies the interaction between (Greek and Latin) literature and society under the Roman Empire, from the first to the fifth century A.D.
Before coming to Ghent, she held academic positions at Exeter (U.K.), Leuven (Belgium), Bonn (Germany), and Göttingen (Germany).
She is currently Co-President of the Jonge Academie (http://jongeacademie.be), and was formerly President of UGent Postdoc Community. A popularising presentation of her current research project can be seen at Universiteit van Vlaanderen.
