Jozefien Feyaerts obtained a master’s degree in Art History (2012) at Ghent University, with a specialization in Architecture, Interior and Heritage Conservation. She interned at the Monuments and Sites Directorate of the Brussels Regional Public Service (2010), and wrote her master’s thesis on Philippe Van Boxmeer’s function as municipal architect in the Flemish town of Mechlin in the late nineteenth century. As an assistant to the Ghent University Department of Art History since 2013, she is preparing a PhD dissertation on the design and construction of the cellular prison in Belgium in the nineteenth century.
