Nicolas Terrie (°1996) is a PhD-student affiliated with Ghent University. His research focuses on early (late 19th century) Freudian metapsychology within then-contemporary debates in post-Kantian philosophy. The pivot of his inquiry is the concept of judgement and its relative use by Freud and Kant(ians) in the derivation of 'categories', i.e. fundamental principles of the unconscious architecture of conscious thought. He is a member of the editorial board of the academic philosophy journal De Uil van Minerva (The owl of Minerva) and is a member of the research group HICO, Center for History of Philosophy and Continental Philosophy.
