Delphine Nachtergaele (°1988) studied Classics (Latin and Greek Literature and Linguistics, 2006-2010) at Ghent university. From October 2010 until September 2011, she worked as an scientific assistent on the research project "Database of Byzantine Book Epigrams" (under the supervision of prof.dr. K. Demoen). In October 2011, her predoctoral research fellowship of the Flanders Research Foundation (FWO) started (under the supervision of prof.dr. M. De Groote). This project focused on the language of the thousands of private papyrus letters of the Ptolemaic, Roman and Byzantine period. On September 17 2015, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation "The Language of the Private Papyrus Letters", which she is now preparing for publication in Peeters' series "Studia Hellenistica".
