Gert-Jan Van de Voorde studied History at the KULeuven from 2011 through 2016 and focussed on religious memory expressed through wills in Late Mediaeval Ghent and analysed the discourse of the Middle Dutch romance Seghelijn van Jherusalem (ca.1350).
Since september 2017 he works on the ERC Starting Grant Project “State: Lordship and the Rise of States in Western Europe, 1300-1600” supervised by dr Frederik Buylaert (UGent) and Justine Firnhaber-Baker (University of St.Andrews). In this project he is looking into seigneuries in the Sénéchaussée of Toulouse between 1400 and 1530.
