Kelsey is currently working as a PhD student at IPEM. After completing a bachelor in Musicology and a research master in Brain and Cognitive Sciences (both obtained at the University of Amsterdam), she is now using her interdisciplinary approach to study the field of embodied music cognition. Although her interests convey a wide variety, her main focus at IPEM is to study contexts, forms, and types of expressive moments during synchronized music interactions. This knowledge will ultimately be applied to aid the construction of augmented music realities.
A presentation on her research on social connectedness, joint music making and livestreamed concerts during the covid-19 pandemic can be found here: https://youtu.be/DpNBM74VNsY
