After undergraduate studies in Belgium (Oriental Studies, UCL) and in Paris (Sanskrit, Urdu), Eve continued with an MSt in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford and then earned a PhD in History from Royal Holloway University of London (2016). She went on to work as research assistant at the Sorbonne, then to teach Hindi for two years at Aix-Marseille University. She has now joined Ghent University as FWO Junior Postdoctoral Fellow (2019-2022) for a project entitled : "The house’s honour" (ghar kī ‘izzat): a study of shame in North Indian children’s and women’s periodical and didactic literature (1870s–1940s).
Her research interests lie in the history of colonial and contemporary South Asia, with a special attention to Northern India, Islam, Urdu and Hindi literary traditions and cultures, and the History of emotions.
