Jesse Hollestelle is a Ph.D-canditate under the supervision of Frederik Buylaert and Thijs Lambrecht within the Belspo Brain-be 2.0 funded LORD-project. Within this project, Jesse focusses on reconstructing the 'seigneurial landscape' by mapping all seigneuries with haute justice in the county of Flanders during the early modern period (c.1500-c.1800), as well as investigating the underlying (social) contracts the inhabitants of these lordships had with one another, their lord, and individuals from outside their seigneurie.
