Chris Chan is the Project Manager and Grant Writer for Humor and Conflict in the Digital Age (HACIDA), a Scientific Research Network based at Ghent University and funded by an ENLIGHT RISE Grant. Prior to this role, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2021-24) in the English section of the Department of Literary Studies at UGent, for which he taught courses and supervised projects on a wide range of topics: British poetry, fantasy literature, and the literature of slavery and the Enlightenment. He received his B.A. (hons., summa cum laude) in English and chemistry from Rutgers University (in New Jersey, USA), and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
