Alexander De Soete holds a PhD in Linguistics from Ghent University and the University of the Western Cape and is affiliated with the MULTIPLES research cluster at Ghent University. As a sociolinguist, his work focuses on English-medium instruction (EMI) in higher education. His previous research examined the role of multilingualism in EMI classrooms, with particular attention to lecturer agency and the co-production of language policy. His current research explores students’ interactional competence in EMI settings.
