Carina Hasenzagl studied Classical Archaeology as well as Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology at the University of Vienna (2008-2015). She worked at Vienna University as a member of the scientific staff and took part in archaeological projects in Austria, France, Greece, Italy and Turkey. Her master thesis focused on the characterization of different production sites of African Red Slip Ware by applying standardized fabric description, which is also the key aspect of her BOF funded PhD project conducted at Ghent University since 2016.
