Céline Van De Walle

Céline Van De Walle holds an MA in Interpreting and an MA in English and Spanish Linguistics and Literature. Her research interests include the training of medical interpreters, the (trainee) interpreter’s interactional function and non-verbal communication in interpreter-mediated interaction. She started her PhD in Translation Studies in October 2014 at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication at Ghent University, Belgium. This PhD focuses on the training of community interpreters in healthcare settings through a qualitative analysis of video-recorded authentic and simulated interpreter-mediated consultations. She is currently involved in teaching of trainee interpreters.
