Grazia Aiello obtained her Bachelor’s degree (2019) and Master’s degree (2022) in Ancient Studies at the University of Palermo. In 2023, she began her PhD in the “Migrations, Differences, and Social Justice” program at the University of Palermo, supervised by Prof. Rosa Rita Marchese and Prof. Chiara Giubilaro. She is currently a cotutelle PhD candidate at Ghent University under the supervision of Prof. Marco Formisano.
Her research project, Placing the Place: A Journey Through Orientation and Displacement in the Latin World, explores orientation and disorientation in Latin literature through the lens of migration studies, focusing on landscape, mobility, and travel in the Roman world and their connections to contemporary critical reflections. Her interests include the spatial turn, cultural geography, identity and belonging in the ancient world, and pedagogical practices.
