Hanne Willekens (1991) is an assistant and PhD candidate at the Swedish Literature section of Ghent University.
After obtaining master’s degrees in Linguistics from KU Leuven (2014) and Scandinavian Linguistics and Literature from Ghent University (2016), she started working as a teaching assistant at Ghent University in 2016. Her PhD project “Women and criticism” (January 2022-), supervised by prof. Daan Vandenhaute, explores the field of literary criticism in Sweden today from a gender perspective. Hanne’s research interests include literary sociology, literature and gender, as well as children’s literature.
She currently teaches on the courses Zweedse letterkunde I, about narratology in Swedish short prose, and Zweedse letterkunde IV, about Swedish poetry. Previously, she also thought Scandinavische letterkunde, which focused on minority literature in Scandinavia.
