Harshit Mishra is a Ph.D. Scholar in Asian Languages and Cultures at Ghent University, Belgium, and has been working as a Research Associate at the International School for Jain Studies (ISJS), Pune, India, for the past two years. He earned his B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. degrees in Sanskrit from the Department of Sanskrit, University of Delhi, graduating with First Division.
He was previously awarded the Bhagavan Mahavir Prakrit Fellowship (2023–24) by the ISJS, under which he pursued advanced study of Prakrit language and literature. His doctoral research investigates the grammatical dimensions and linguistic tendencies of the Praśnavyākaraṇasūtra, situating it within the broader traditions of Prakrit grammar, linguistics, and Jain canonical literature. His wider academic interests encompass Sanskrit, Prakrit, Apabhraṁśa, poetics, epigraphy, and computational linguistics.
Alongside his research, Harshit is actively engaged in teaching Prakrit and Apabhraṁśa. He is also a poet in Sanskrit and Prakrit, exploring the creative and aesthetic dimensions of these classical languages.
