Jade Engel is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, UGent and the Lingusitcs Department, University of the Western Cape. Her research focus is on investigating the lived experiences of asylum seekers and refugees in the South African landscape. Through her work, she aims to give a voice to the vulnerable bodies that do not count in several societies.
