Kristof De Leemans (°1971) is a policy advisor. He supports the general policy at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, with a focus on HR and research issues.
At faculty level, he supports the Faculty Board and he acts as administrative contact for the faculty Research Committee (CWO). He prepares the meetings of the Committee and advises the Director of Research of the faculty. Within the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, he explores opportunities and provides support for research proposals, research valorisation and research collaboration. He acts as go-between between the research groups, the research policy cell and the department, the faculty research committee and the UGent Research Department. He is also involved in the internal and external communication of research and the research policy of the department (analysis, reporting).
Kristof De Leemans has been department secretary of the former Faculty of Applied Language Studies at University College Ghent (2004-2013), where he was in charge of the administration. His tasks included policy preparation and follow-up of education, personnel, infrastructure, finances, communication, etc.
Kristof De Leemans holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences at the University of Antwerp on the concept of governing capacity and the governing capacity of municipalities in Flanders (Bestuurskracht verklaart/d, 2003).
