Kristof De Leemans (°1971) is a research policy advisor. He supports research in the Department of Translation, Interpretation and Communication and in the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy.
Within the department, he explores opportunities and provides support for research proposals, research valorisation and research collaboration. He acts as go-between between the research groups, the research policy cell and the department, the faculty research committee and the UGent Research Department. He is also involved in the internal and external communication of research and the research policy of the department (analysis, reporting).
At faculty level, he acts as administrative contact for the faculty research committee. He prepares the meetings of the Committee and advises the Director of Research of the faculty.
Kristof De Leemans has been department secretary of the former Faculty of Applied Language Studies at University College Ghent (2004-2013), where he was in charge of the administration. His tasks included policy preparation and follow-up of education, personnel, infrastructure, finances, communication, etc.
Kristof De Leemans holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences at the University of Antwerp on the concept of governing capacity and the governing capacity of municipalities in Flanders (Bestuurskracht verklaart/d, 2003).
