I studied archaeology (focus northwestern Europe in Roman and medieval times) at Ghent University between 2013 and 2017. My master dissertation, for which I received the VLIZ Master Thesis Award 2017, was about Roman salt production in the civitas Menapiorum (north-France, Belgium, Walcheren). Specifically, I analyzed the Roman briquetage pottery from the Bruges area. Before my PhD-project, I worked a year at the Gallo-Roman museum in Tongeren. In November 2018, I joined the Historical Archaeology Research Group (HARG) at Ghent University with a BOF-scholarship. In my PhD-project, I study the Roman salt production (technological aspects), consumption and distribution in the civitas Menapiorum through the analysis of briquetage-pottery.
