Abstract

In this joint project between the departments of Languages and Cultures and the Department of Clinical chemistry, microbiology and immunology of Ghent university, the issue of the occurence of scurvy aboard Chinese ships during the famous expeditions led by Zheng He in the early 15th century was investigated.
