This research project aims to respond to the knowledge gap on contextual diversity in transitional justice on the one hand and the lack of empirical studies on the nature and functioning of memory, time and historical consciousness on the other hand. By offering a culturally-sensitive meta-historical analysis of the dissemination, implementation and reception of transitional justice discourse and practice in post-conflict Peru, this research wants to make a contribution to two fields: the meta-historical field of memory-studies and the interdisciplinary field of transitional justice.
