Abstract

This project investigates how narrative meaning in fiction emerges from underlying linguistic structure, with a focus on how syntax, discourse organization, and sequential patterns shape storytelling. By applying natural language processing techniques to fictional texts, the study models the relationship between sentence-level structure and higher-level narrative elements such as plot progression, perspective, and coherence. The goal is to develop computational representations that capture how stories are constructed and understood, enabling more nuanced analysis of narrative form and improved generation of coherent fictional texts
