I am a visting PhD student sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in the Department of Language and Culture (Sinology) at Ghent University in Belgium, and a member of the Ghent Buddhist Research Center. I hold a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from Chongqing University and am currently pursuing a PhD in Landscape Architecture at Chongqing University. My joint PhD thesis is titled "Research on the Influence of Buddhism on the Historical 'City Mountain' Landscape in Southwest China". This project takes Buddhism, one of the three major religions in China, as the starting point for historical and cultural interpretation, and focuses on the historical and cultural cities in Southwest China where Buddhism is prevalent and Buddhist cultural heritage is concentrated. From the perspective of the overall linkage between urban cultural elements and natural mountains, this study investigates the historical landscape of Buddhist cities in Southwest China.Based on the interdisciplinary intersection of religion and human settlement environments, I hope to integrate theories and methods from multiple disciplines in my research, delving into the intrinsic connections between Buddhist culture and urban landscapes.
My research interests include Chinese urban history, Chinese landscape history, Chinese scenic heritage, and digital humanistic methods.
