The project Subversive Voices is a joint virtual seminar designed for Master’s students in Literature, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, and East European and Baltic Studies. It explores how women-identifying creators in Eastern Europe and the Baltic region articulate resistance and identity through literature, film, and digital media. The course promotes interdisciplinary and transnational collaboration among Ghent University, the University of Göttingen, and the University of Tartu. Using intersectional feminist and post-socialist theoretical frameworks, students will critically analyze cultural texts and develop collaborative digital projects that engage public audiences. Innovative elements include co-teaching across institutions, project-based learning, and the integration of digital humanities tools such as Scalar and TimelineJS. The seminar emphasizes equity, diversity, and accessibility through its fully virtual, environmentally sustainable format. Outcomes include enhanced intercultural competence, digital literacy, and academic collaboration skills. Selected student works will be published on open-access platforms, extending the course’s impact beyond enrolled participants. Designed for long-term sustainability, Subversive Voices will serve as a recurring elective, potentially evolving into a certified microcredential or Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) under Erasmus+. The initiative exemplifies ENLIGHT’s mission to foster culture, creativity, and inclusive education across European universities.
