I received my BA in Anthropology from Georgia State University (Atlanta, Georgia, USA) in 2014, where I was invited to conduct an Honors Thesis entitled “Empowered Princesses: An Ethnographic Examination of the Practices, Rituals, and Conflicts within Lolita Fashion Communities in the United States.” In 2018, I received my MA from KU Leuven and graduated Cum Laude. My thesis “What it is That We Do: An Autoethnographic Exploration of the Role of BDSM in the Lives of Its Practitioners” was completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Steven Van Wolputte. I began my PhD in May of 2020 at UGent. My research main research interests include: sexuality, intimacy, (sexual) subcultures and BDSM, lived experiences, and storytelling.
