Frances Welling

Frances Welling is an assistant researcher at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication at Ghent University, where she is affiliated with the TRACE and CLIV research groups. She obtained her Master's diplomas in Literature, Culture and Society and in Translation studies at the University of Amsterdam after obtaining her Bachelor's diplomas in Cultural Studies at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and in Slavic studies at the University of Amsterdam. At UGent, she is doing research on self-translation of poetry into Russian in multilingual contexts.

She also writes and translates (EN-NL, RU-NL, NL-EN) and is part of the editorial team of Dutch online literary magazine DIG (De Internet Gids).  Currently she is studying translation RU-NL at the VertalersVakschool.
