Griet Theeten (°1982) studied Romanic Languages (Literature and Linguistics) at Ghent University. In 2005, she obtained a DEA (diplôme d’études approfondies) in French Literature and Civilisation at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). From 2006 until 2009, she prepared a PHD on the First World War in contemporary French fiction (supervisor: Prof. dr. Pierre Schoentjes). In November 2009, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled La Grande Guerre en fiction: la représentation de la Première Guerre mondiale dans la littérature française de l’extrême contemporain. Since November 2010, she works at Ghent University as a teaching assistant for French Literature. Since September 2012, she also works as a lecturer in the department Translation, interpretation and communication at Ghent University.
