Irene Cenni is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the Department of Translation, Interpreting & Communication (UGent), where she is the coordinator of the Italian section. She is affiliated to the research group MULTIPLES. Her research interests include Discourse Analysis, Digital Communication, Business Communication and Multimodal analysis. Her work often includes a cross-linguistic dimension through which she compares discursive online habits and preferences of users of different languages. She published her work in several peer-reviewed journals as Journal of Pragmatics, Intercultural Pragmatics, Discourse, Context & Media, Pragmatics & Society, Food & Foodways. She also teaches and coordinates courses at Bachelor and Master level (Italian grammar and communication, Business Communication, Translation) and supervises BA & MA thesis. Since 2022 she serves as Editorial Board Member of the (A1) international journal Discourse, Context & Media.
