I am a doctor-assistant working and teaching on phenomenology, philosophy of cognitive science, process metaphysics and aesthetics.
In my current research project I am exploring connections between approaches to the mind in phenomenology and cognitive science. More specifically, my research focuses on questions pertaining to the (dis-) continuity between life and mind, the origins of intentionality in bodily movement and affectivity, and the relation between metabolism, cognition and the emergence of self.
Before coming to Ghent, I received my PhD in Philosophy from the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and the University of Antwerp, with a dissertation on the relation between self-organization and feeling of life in Kant and Deleuze ("Idea and Animation: A Study of the Immanent Sublime in Deleuze's Metaphysics" (2012-2018)). Concurrently with my doctoral research I have also been a Lecturer at KISD – Köln International School of Design and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
