I am an assistant professor in the Department of Linguistics at Ghent University. In my research, I focus on second and foreign language acquisition and language didactics with a specific focus on vocabulary-related topics. In my doctoral (KU Leuven, 2013) as well as postdoctoral research (FWO grant 2014 - 2018), I investigated the use and effectiveness of multimodal input for L2 learning.
I teach courses on teaching methodology (foreign languages) and research methods in SLA and I coordinate the Master of Teaching Languages. I supervise PhD projects on (second or foreign) language acquisition and language teaching. I currently (co-)supervise 5 PhD students (see Projects).
