Nina Vanhoutte is a PhD candidate in Greek literature. She holds a Master’s degree in Historical Languages and Linguistics and was an intern at the Database of Byzantine Book Epigrams. Her research focuses on Byzantine Greek didactic poetry from the eleventh and twelfth century. Using an interdisciplinary approach, she combines palaeography, textual criticism, genre theory and analysis of the socio-cultural context to increase our knowledge about this medieval literary genre.
