The traditional concept of “subject” is central to the study of all languages. However, indigenous languages spoken in the Amazon often challenge this notion. The research project will investigate various approaches to the notion of “subject” with a sample of Amazonian languages in a research that will include linguistic fieldwork in the Amazon.
