Abstract

This research project is an exploration of trans poetry as a category, a critical inquiry of that category itself, and an attempt to identify central characteristics of trans poetries and poetics. Furthermore, by examining various publication forms—including the more conventional forms like poetry collections or literary magazines, as well as zines, social media platforms, and poetry performances—the project aims to find out what cultural space(s) trans poetry occupies in the Northern American anglophone context, thus exploring how the poetic concerns of trans poetries are related to form, how they are translated into practice, and vice versa.
