He studied Germanistik, Scandinavian studies and Education in Ghent and Stockholm. His research project "Publishing between profit and prestige", supervised by Prof. Daan Vandenhaute and funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO), examines the impact of commercialisation, digitalisation and globalisation on the role, functioning and position of publishing houses in the contemporary field of fiction publishing in Sweden. The project aims to analyse the structure of the Swedish literary publishing field and unravel the production logics that are at play. Robbe’s research interests lie at the intersection of sociology of literature, distant reading and publishing studies.
