Sofie Avery obtained a Master of Arts in Philosophy (Ghent University) in 2019. They are working as a PhD researcher and member of the assisting academic staff at the Department of Philosophy and Moral Sciences at Ghent University.
Sofie co-teaches undergraduate courses on applied ethics and continental philosophy. Their doctoral research focuses on debates regarding exclusions in (the history of) feminism and their contemporary manifestations. More specifically, they take as a starting point the narratives surrounding intersectionality as a hailed solution for the fault lines in feminism.
