Geert Stuyckens (°1982) studied Germanic languages (German and Dutch) at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, 2000-2004). In 2004, he was awarded a grant from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to study German and general linguistics at the University of Leipzig. Afterwards, he joined the research group of German linguistics at the University of Leuven, where he obtained his PhD with a dissertation on the syntax of coordinate clauses in German and Dutch in 2011. From 2011 to 2016, he worked at the German Embassy in Brussels, the University of Leuven Campus Brussels (KU Leuven@HUB) and the University of Ghent (UGent). Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral researcher on a project that seeks to bring together the research traditions of corpus translation studies and foreign language learning. His research interests focus on the language pair German-Dutch.
