My research focuses on the morphology and syntax of the Austronesian languages in Taiwan, a.k.a. Formosan languages. I'm interested in how the unique morphosyntactic features of Formosan languages can advance our understanding of language universals and diversities and further contribute to current linguistic theories, especially the generative approach to language. My current project investigates the grammatical properties of "non-canonical" verbs in Kavalan: interrogative and adverbial verbs. Other research interests include control structure, restructuring, and location/locatum verbs.
