Griet Bonne studied Art History and Curatorial Studies at Ghent University. Elaborating on her master dissertation on the illustrated art books of Edgar Degas, Bonne obtained a grant of the Flemish Research Fund for a PhD at Ghent University entitled: Rubens in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction: The Oeuvre of Peter Paul Rubens in Illustrated Art Books, Film and Television (1877-1977), under the supervision of Prof. dr. Steven Jacobs.
