I am a Catalan linguist who studies Amazonian languages, with a focus on Panará (Jê) and Mỹky (isolate). My research combines a descriptive and theoretical approach to syntax, morphology, and phonology. I am especially interested in grammatical relations, agreement, and case. I also work on language documentation and revitalization, and the history of indigenous Amazonian peoples.
I am a Rubicon post-doctoral researcher at Ghent University. My current project, funded by NWO and supervised by Jóhanna Barðdal, is to investigate the notion of subject and, by extension, grammatical relations in Amazonian languages.
I have a PhD from the University of Groningen, with a dissertation on case and agreement in Panará. Since then, I was a post-doctoral researcher at UC Berkeley on an ELDP project to document Manoki, an endangered variety of Mỹky. I have an MA in linguistics from Paris VII (Université Denis Diderot) and a double major in translation and in applied linguistics from Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona.
