Alexander Van de Sijpe is a doctoral researcher at Ghent University. His research interests focus on modern Dutch literature and narrative theory. As a FWO fellow, he investigates the integration of Christianity in novels from the Netherlands (post-2000). The research situates the Christian tradition in the context in which it functions today, and examines how tensions and dialogues between Christianity on the one hand, and sexuality, gender, and cultural identity on the other, are depicted in literature.
