Dr. Alexis Daveloose successfully defended his PhD on the funerary representation of the Etruscan family in September of 2022, with particular attention to the relation between ritualistic discourse and social organisation. His research generally focuses on the late Etruscan period, particularly social and cultural themes within the context of the Roman conquest. He is currently a postdoctoral assistant at Ghent University (Belgium), working on a project investigating forms of social organisation and associated networks in Hellenistic Etruria. He is also preparing a book on the demographic regime of Etruria, delving into related aspects of mortality, nuptiality, and fertility. Earlier work consisted of onomastic customs and family dynamics, for late Etruria and Republican Rome.
