Anne Lanckriet is a PhD student in Greek literature at the Department of Literary Studies. Previous to this, they completed a Master's in 'Literature and Linguistics: Ancient Greek' (2022-2023, summa cum laude) at Ghent University and a Master's in 'Gender and Women's Studies' (2023-2024, distinction) at Trinity College Dublin. Their current project on the representation of ancient Greek courtesans (ἑταῖραι, hetairai) in the literary works of Second Sophistic authors Lucian, Alciphron, and Athenaeus is titled 'Courting the Past: (Re)constructing Courtesans in the Second Sophistic (50-250 CE)'.
