Carine Jacobs holds a Master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and specializes in Dutch as a second language (NT2). She completed the PAVO NT2 didactics training and is a certified reading coach. In addition, she received training in the Open Dialogue approach and is a registered couples and family therapist affiliated with the BVGRS (Professional Association for Relationship and Family Therapists). Her academic and practice-based work is situated at the intersection of language acquisition, identity formation, and psychosocial well-being. Her current research explores Shared Reading as a dialogical practice with adult NT2 learners, focusing on language development, narrative identity, and interpersonal connection. Her aim is to contribute to trauma-sensitive and person-centred language education for migrants and newcomers.
