In 2022 Giovanni Leo received his master’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures (with a focus on linguistics and foreign language teaching) at the University of Salerno, with a thesis in Applied Linguistics under the supervision of Prof. Iolanda Alfano. He is currently a PhD student at Ghent University, working on a project dealing with the intonation and rhythm of Italian dialects and regional varieties, under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Crocco, Prof. Mariapaola D'Imperio, and Prof. Barbara Gili Fivela. His main interests concern phonetics and phonology.
