A doctoral researcher currently working on a joint PhD project at Ghent University and Antwerp University on (non-)professional interpreting practices in multi-phased institutional procedures, with a particular focus on sworn, community and ad hoc interpreters working in the municipal and police stages of marriage fraud investigations in Flanders (Belgium).
Previously worked as a researcher on the Ergonomics for the Artificial Boothmate (EABM) project, funded by the European Commission, in which Ghent University and the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz focused on creating a future-proof CAI tool which uses speech recognition technology to create a user-friendly interpreting tool and enhance interpreting performance in the booth.
Studied at Ghent University's Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, and has obtained a BA in Applied Linguistics, an MA in Interpreting, and a postgraduate degree in Conference Interpreting.
