Linde Nuyts (°1994) graduated in the summer of 2016 as Master in Medieval History. She wrote a thesis on the sixteenth century Burgundian perception of ‘the Turk’, while studying three semesters at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2014-2016 as part of the Erasmus exchange program. In November 2017, she started her PhD fellowship within a BOF project on political songs in the late medieval Low Countries, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Dumolyn. In this research, she learns to combine historical, literary and musicological methods (by trial and error). To understand the sources from another point of view, she is learning how to play the medieval lute. Her main research interests are the history of communication, media and the political and cultural history of the medieval Low Countries.
