Elisa Bonduel (°1996) received her BA and MA of Arts in History at Ghent University. Her MA dissertation studied the migration of skilled and unskilled craftsmen to late medieval Bruges. In 2019, she obtained a second MA of Arts in Arts & Heritage at the University of Maastricht, where she further developed her interest in public history, science communication and museum studies. In September 2019, she started her PhD research at the History Department of Ghent University on the import of bulk goods into late medieval Flanders, supervised by prof. Jan Dumolyn and prof. Wim De Clercq. This research is part of the interdisciplinary GOA-project “High Tide – Low Tide. Bruges’ late-medieval harbour system as a maritime cultural landscape,” led by prof. Wim De Clercq (Archaeology), prof. Jan Dumolyn (History) and prof. Stephen Louweye (Geology). Her main research topics are the history of crafts and guilds, migration history and the social and economic history of the medieval Low Countries.
